Could a smart camera control external devices, save a full frame photo and recognize plate numbers at a high speed? Usually, these functions are included into LPR server-based solutions with inbuilt business logics. Just recently FF Group has released a new version of LPR application on Axis camera (NumberOK EDGE ACAP), and all advantages of the server-based solution became camera-embedded. Plate number recognition time on camera is about 100 ms on 3 lanes simultaneously at almost 160 kph speed.

NumberOK EDGE ACAP stores full frame photos of recognized vehicles, also allowing to evaluate the situation around nearby, and at the same time determining vehicle type and brand as well as identification of a driver. Moreover, FF Group’s specialists have implemented API protocol support for data sending to AXIS A1001 Network Controller. This business logic could support external devices control directly from the Axis camera via FF Group’s LPR application.

Very soon FF Group plans to detect vehicle movement direction on Axis LPR camera.
